Our client knew exactly what she wanted when she came to us. She had a vision of a calm room, with a soft feel and earthy tones. She wanted it to be warm and inviting, and not overly fussy.
For the main living area, we found natural brushed cottons in plain colours. We decided to add a border to the roman blinds to avoid them being too flat, neatly finishing them off with small pelmets, which help to hide the mechanisms. As we were fitting the roman blinds to the ceiling inside the bay, we ran the border along the top to keep it looking the same as the ones that were fitted either side of the fireplace.
In the dining area we used a fine, natural fabric in a warm tone to coordinate with what had been done the living area. To keep the clean lines we chose a wave heading, and opted for a taupe finish on the pole to perfectly tone in with our colour palette.
The open plan room ran through into the kitchen, where we used the same plain fabric on the roman blind, but this time added a subtle pattern so there was a touch of difference for this part of the room, while still continuing the overall theme.
