Gorgeous Guest Bedroom

Bedrooms are always so lovely to work with when you are able to dress the bed, and this was a particularly beautiful room.

Our client wanted to create a pretty bedroom for when guests came to stay, wanting to make it feel that they were getting a special treat. She had already chosen the soft dusty pink for the walls so we found the Vespertina fabric from Ashley Wilde, the floral design is striking without being too twee or overpowering, and the darker colours added depth the scheme. We wanted to make a feature of the shape of the window, so rather than cover it up in any way we made the curtains to fit the shape.

For the bed we selected the more purple tone, and mixed with a navy blue. To give more of a hotel look we combined different shaped cushions, and added a coordinating runner across the bottom of the bedroom to provide balance. By making some of the cushions, and the runner, reversible we were able to create two different looks in one.

As the room was at the front of the house we used a sheer roller blind to add some privacy. The shaped bottom created a softer shape, and teardrop glass pull coordinated with the Laura Ashley light.
