About Us

We are passionate about what we do. We always work with our customers to ensure they are getting exactly what they want to make their house into their home. It may mean going the extra mile for you, but that’s what we enjoy doing!

Fashion Flooring was established in Bishop’s Stortford by Tony Orme in 1992. Dave, his youngest son, worked in the store while Russ, the eldest, carried out the fitting with Tony. He traded there until he unfortunately lost his premises due to redevelopment of the town centre in 2003. Tony made the decision to retire, but Dave always wanted to bring the family business back to the town.

Fast forward and in 2017, a lovely new shop location was found in the heart of Bishop’s Stortford. This was also the time to expand into soft furnishings, lighting, accessories and decorative items for the home.

We are a team of three who all work together, each one of us is involved with every customer from the time they walk through our door until completion of their order.

Meet Our Team

Dave Orme

Flooring Specialist

Dave was born into flooring, with his Dad owning a flooring shop and his brother carrying out fittings, he has been involved in the flooring industry his whole life. As a result of this he has a wealth of knowledge along with practical experience.

Dave has always lived in the area which is the reason he wanted to open his own business in his home town. When he met Kathryn in their previous management roles he realised that by combining their skills they would give Bishops Stortford a shop like no other in the area.

Kathryn Hughes

Interior Designer

Kathryn originally lived in Cardiff where she successfully completed a diploma in Interior Design, she then worked as an Interior Designer transforming not only family homes but also designed interiors for show homes and apartments.

Kathryn moved to London to advance her career which led to her being offered the role of Soft Furnishings and Linens Buyer in a large Furniture store.

Passionate about everything stylish and elegant Kathryn enjoys getting to know her customers in order to work with them to realise the potential in their homes.

Anthony O'Connell

Flooring Specialist

Anthony has been in the flooring industry for more than 30 years and has dealt with every aspect of the business. This includes, measuring and estimating to fitting, representing manufacturers plus, of course, years of sales experience.

Anthony hails from Manchester but his career brought him to London where he met his wife and decided to stay. He is a committed family man and dotes on his beautiful daughter.
