There have been quite a few changes in interior trends over the last few years. We have seen dark, rich colours being used throughout homes, from bedrooms to kitchens. Along with large scale patterns on fabrics and wallpapers, however towards the end of 2024 we saw an increase in neutral colour schemes. Featuring soothing creams and taupes, often combined with earthy colours such as olive green, or terracotta, creating a calm, relaxed feel. There has been a definite shift away from grey, with people opting for warmer tones, although with grey being a timeless colour, it won’t be going anywhere soon.

In fabrics there has been a rise in natural textures, using chunky weaves to create interest. Patterns appear to be more delicate, moving away from the bold, bright tropical designs popular over the last few years. More collections are featuring coordinating fabrics, suggesting using them together, mixing the patterns to create a cohesive yet eclectic look.
Wallpapers are following a similar idea as fabrics, offering a cross section, from textures to all types of patterns, but a rise in murals will make next year more exciting.
Carpets have been introducing more shades of champagne and sand into their collections, with a few more bold colours starting to appear. Similarly hard flooring is also favouring warmer woods such as oak. The popular herringbone design will be continuing into 2025, however many suppliers are launching a chevron pattern as something a little different.

In lighting, golds have been popular over the last few years, this trend will carry on into 2025, however leaning towards antique brass, complimenting earthier colours. You may even start to see a splash of colour in lamps and ceiling lights.
