As our Potter Street reaches its second birthday, we thought we would let you know a bit about us and what we have been up to.
We cannot believe that our first shop on High Street is approaching its sixth year. The ground floor still concentrates on flooring, but has had a bit of a makeover. We still offer many options, including carpets, wood, laminate, and vinyl tiles, but we have some new brands with stunning new designs. Our Rug Room has a whole new collection of rugs, with on trend colours and patterns. We always something for everyone.
The first floor is full of fabrics for curtains and blinds, along with wallpapers, lighting and accessories. This is where you will find our Interior Designer who has had a busy year turning your houses into lovely homes. She is always on hand to guide you in the right direction, whether you simply need help picking a wallpaper for a feature wall, through to full interior design schemes.
Our newer Potter Street shop focusses more on lighting, with a wide range on display and many more available to order. It is here that we have more gorgeous accessories for your home, and gifts galore.
We have been thinking a lot about the issues we are all facing, and trying to find ways that we can help. Last winter we looked for ways to help you keep warm during the energy crisis, from adding rugs to rooms with hard floors, to using thermal linings on curtains, as well as throws for curling up on the sofa with.
Sustainability has also been at the forefront of our minds, so we have sourced fabrics that are made from recycled bottles, and even carpets that use discarded fish nets. These not only repurpose waste products, but help to save beautiful sea creatures. There are also our fair-trade stone sculptures that are all hand carved in Kenya, which provides income for the people in the area.
Of course, we are always looking for gifts, currently ideas that are perfect for weddings. But it will soon be time to start thinking about Christmas, all the wonderful presents, whether they be for others, or a little treat for yourself.
On a more personal note, we have had our first ever Fashion baby! Congratulations to Cat and the gorgeous little Sylvie.
